“GLAMOUR KA TADKA” in India International Cycle Expo 2013

Ludhiana, February 22, 2013: City Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwarhia inaugurated India International Cycle Expo 2013 in the grounds of Government College for Girls here on Friday.

Four international machinery manufacturers and almost all prominent Indian bicycle and bicycle parts manufacturers from all the country participated in the event.

Huge crowd, especially the youths, was seen on the stalls put up by Hero Cycles Limited and Hero EcoTech Limited. Reasons: the former manufacturing company was displaying its new models of bicycles with the help of female models and the latter was trying to attract the visitors through dance by a young couple. This is why many visitors were seen saying: “The bicycle manufacturers are now using glamour as a tool to attract buyers.”

When the media persons contacted the Hero Cycles Limited’s senior vice president AK Mathur, he too admitted that the new series of models were specially for the younger generation, therefore, they were using “glamour” to attract the youths. He hoped that people would start seeing the youths riding hi-end bicycles instead of luxury cars on the city roads.   

The Hero EcoTech Limited managing director (MD) Gaurav Munjal too said “glamour” attracted people. He hoped that bicycle industry would grow further in the future.

M/S Shuz Tung Machinery Industrial company Limited from Taiwan president Julian Chuang and sales chief Joy Huang had also put their stall in the expo. On contact, they hoped to get a good response from the expo.

Both Julian and Joy told that their company had been doing business in India for the last 20 years. They revealed that they had their around ten clients in Ludhiana too. They said they manufacture machinery related to the cycle industry, adding they had a great aspirations from the event.
