Students getting their registration done on second day of the two-day Mega Job Fest 2013 organised by Punjab Technical University (PTU) on Friday.
Kapurthala, January 25, 2013: The Mega Job Fest 2013 organised by Punjab Technical University (PTU) created a history on second day with the huge number of participants.
The total registration of two days was more than 3,700.
The job fest concluded in the campus of Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), Kapurthala.
In this Mega Job Fest, more than 1,000 students of different streams of B.Tech., M.C.A., M.B.A., P. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, M.Sc. Chemistry participated on second day.
On the first day of the fest, the number was 2,700.
Twenty renowned companies participated on first day.
Today, 14 new companies also entered in the job fest.
While inaugurating the Mega Job Fest day-2 ceremony, Dean Academic Dr Buta Singh Sidhu said that it is a wonderful opportunity when national level companies are offering excellent packages for IT and Management Courses.
He said that PTU plans to start this activity on regular basis throughout the year.
Dr Sidhu explained to students that more than 20 new national level companies are called for this activity with PTU and they are planning to invite 50 companies for next job fest within three months.
Dr Nachattar Singh, Director, PIT, Kapurthala said that PTU aims at providing jobs to more than 1 lakh students in this academic year. “Especially we are finding those areas for opportunity where the demand is high and supply is less”, he said.
The visiting companies adopted three procedures to judge the skills of the students which included written examination, group discussion and interview.
The list of the visiting companies include Mstrotech India Pvt. Ltd., Exotic Professional Recruitment Services, Unit Infotech Pvt. Ltd, Systacare Remedies, Karman Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Real Web Studio, Microwin Labs Pvt. Ltd., Smart Housing Developer & Infrastructure Ltd., Future Point Edu-Tech Pvt. Ltd., Pingaksho Technologies Inc, Intellisense Technologies, ZIQTZA Healthcare Ltd., Intelgain Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Solitier infotech ltd.
On the second day of job fest, Deputy Registrar Er. Ekomkar Singh Johal, Training and Placement Officer Navdeepak Sandhu, Assistant Professor Shabir Sidhu, Dr. Dalbir Kaur, Gazal Sharma, Barinderjit were also present.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed within seven days on University’s website as well as some companies will send it directly to the shortlisted candidates.
