300 Diabetes Patients got benefitted at SidhPeeth Dandi-Swami Mandir, Free Camp for Diabetes & Eye Disorders
Ludhiana, December 4, 2016: Dr Surinder Gupta Led team of DFW and NIMA Ludhiana today, conducted 210th Diabetes/General Camp at Sidh Peeth Dandiswami Mandir Ludhiana under the patronage of Sh Raj kumar Sharma ji and Mr Chander Mohan Mr Ram Nath Pandey were present. Municipal Councillor Sh Rajesh Sharma Mintoo, too visited the camp. Apart from Dr Surinder Gupta, Dr Inder Sharma, Dr Vikram Batta and Dr Karnail Singh attended to the visiting patients
Free Eye Diseases check up was done by Renowned Ophthalmologist Dr Ramesh and he selected patients needing cataract surgery.
More than 350 patients were Examined by DFW Team for diabetes and General ailments. Free blood Glucose, Free Haemoglobin, Free Cholesterol/Creatinine, Body Metabolic Index (BMI), Neuropathy test, were done.
Dietary Advice chart and lifestyle modification counselling was done. Free medicines were given to those needing medical intervention.
DFW volunteers Sh Shiv Kumar Sharma, Mrs Franky Singla, Mr Thakur Sarahan, Mr Jaspal Singh, Mr Gunjeet Singh, Tejinder Singh, Mr Happy Bansal and Mr Rakesh assisted Dr Surinder Gupta.
Dr Surinder Gupta while interacting with diabetic patients said that worldover 366 million people suffered from diabetes in 2011, and this population is supposed to touch 652million by 2030. Presently 50.8 million indians suffer from diabetes and by 2030 more than 166 million diabetics in india will belong to 60-79 yrs age group.
So Indian Government need to have people-friendly health policies, better Health Insurance schemes & optimum Hospitalisation facilities ready, to cater to such a vast senior citizen diabetic population.
Diabetes Free World (DFW) is a mission to put brakes on diabetes incidence, by early detection at Pre-diabetes stage and keeping them diabetes free for years by dietary-care and increased physical activity. We organise free treatment camps to minimise the Incidence of Diabetes related complications to help diabetics in leading a quality life.
"Minimum Medicines and Maximum Lifestyle" is our rule in diabetes. So the patient on medicines should, reduce the dose of medicines, while continuing with the advised dietary care.
Once controlled, some diabetics start consuming 'high carbohydrate diet' due to Phobia of Low Sugar or hypoglycemia. It leads to hyperglycemia/high blood glucose or treatment-failure.
As a seasonal precautions on footwalk, Cardiac patients should prefer walking during Sun-shine and avoid, Walking, during cold foggy early morning hours, he said.
