Ludhiana, June 21, 2016: Second International Yoga Day was celebrated at Guru Nanak Stadium, here today. This function was organised jointly by the District Administration and The Art of Living, which was attended by thousands of city residents, students, personnel from armed forces, sportspersons and several others.
The function started at around 6 am today and ended at around 8 am. A large number of youngsters also participated in 2nd International Yoga Day celebrations.
While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat said that practising yoga daily keeps one's mind and body fit. He said that Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that is now followed across the globe. He urged the residents to practice yoga daily and make it a part of their daily routine as it would certainly help them in today's fast moving life.
Mayor Mr Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria congratulated the city residents as well as the district administration for organising a successful function on the occasion of 2nd International Yoga Day.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included MC Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori, ADC Mr Rishi Pal Singh, Senior BJP leader Mr Parveen Bansal, Mr Sukhwinderpal Singh Grewal, besides several others.
