378 youngsters shortlisted at ‘Spark-4’ Job Fair held at CT Group of Institutions

Jalandhar, April 12, 2016: After the roaring success of its previous edition, District Administration, Jalandhar in collaboration with I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University, CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar, Jalandhar Chamber of Industries & Commerce and District Bureau of Employment Generation & Training organized a “Job Fair 2016 (Spark 4)” for Engineering/Computer Application/Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Management/Polytechnic and Graduate students on Tuesday at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus.
The job fair was Open to all the Engineering/Computer Application/Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Management/Polytechnic and Graduate students of 2015 passed out and 2016 passing out batch. More than 45 companies including John Deere, Micromax, HDFC bank, Videocon, Policy Bazaar and others conducted their placement process to recruit young and qualified persons while more than 1248 youngsters registered at the fair with skills in electrical, computing and others. 378 youngsters were shortlisted while the result of remaining three companies will be declared shortly.
Deputy Commissioner (IAS) Kamal Kishore Yadav marked his presence at the concluding ceremony while Senior District Magistrate Rajat Oberoi inaugurated the event in the presence of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions), Dr. P.S. Bedi (Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions) and other officials from Jalandhar Chamber of Industries and Commerce (JCIC), Laghu Udyog Bharti and District Bureau of Employment Generation and Training.
Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav informed that youngsters of age 18 to 25, 12th passed or graduates in any stream took part in this mela. They participated with their Bio-data accompanying original and Xerox of their certificates. He said, ““Job Fair” is one of the biggest events that brings together organizations from various sectors including MNCs, Indian Corporates, Public Sector Undertakings, R&D Organizations, SME etc. under one roof with highly competitive and professional job seekers; thereby serving as the platform for an open and wide-ranging employment opportunities. It would be an ideal platform for the students to select the best organizations for the persuasion of the career.”
Smt. Shruti Shukla (Deputy Director, Guidance Cell of Education Department (Pb.) has also graced the occasion while motivating the students under the supervision of Sh. Rajat Oberoi (SDM-I, Jalandhar), a team of different offices, District Employment Generation of Training (Jalandhar), District Individual Centre, District Youth Services, Smt. Ramanpreet Kaur, Shamsher Communications Pvt Ltd., Centre for Career Planning & Counseling (CCPC), CT Institutions has been organized. Government officials, Mrs. Sanjeeda Beri (Deputy Director, Employment), Sh. Inderjeet Singh Dhami (Deputy Director Youth Services Pb., Sh. Amarjeet Singh (G.M, DIC), Sh. Gurmail Singh and Rajat Sharma (Employment officer), Sh. Manjit Singh Lally (DIC, Jalandhar), Sh. Gurmeet Singh Dhugga (DPRO), Smt. Ramanpreet Kaur, Shamsher Communications Pvt. Ltd. Were present on the occasion from JCIC (Jalandhar) Sh. Charanjit Singh Maingi, Sh. Harish Gupta (president, Laghu Udyog Ltd. Jalandhar, Sh. Abhishek Soni (Deputy Director, CCPC at CT Group of Institutions), Mr. Vishav Kapoor (Manager, CCPC at CT Group of Institutions).
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) expressed his gratitude towards District Administration for organizing this Job Fair. He said, “We have always been organizing such placement drives across India including Himachal, Jammu, Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Our basic motive is to make our students industry ready for that we make sure to provide industrial training, skills development workshops and other event for our students.
