Ludhiana, December 14, 2016: The 5th Annual General Meeting of the Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society (LETS) was held in the premises of Punjab Trade Centre, Industrial Estate, Ludhiana. The meeting was chaired by industrial advisor Sh.T.L Khosla and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Sh.S.P.S Longia was also presented. Sh.Avtar Singh CEO of the LETS informed the members there were 660 members of the LETS which have increased to 1517 members. He also informed that capacity of the water treatment plant has been increased from 1 lakh liters per day to 5 lakh liters per day. He presented the detail of the agenda one by one in the house which was approved by the members as below.
The detail of the balance sheet for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16 which was approved by the member unanimously.
Sh. Manmohan Singh Ubhi, Director of the LETS informed the house for amendment of the memorandum and Association by laws of the society. He informed that presently the term of the elected member is 2 years which need to be change. He suggested that minimum period of 3 year maybe considered of the elected members so that they may use their best experiences for running the society.
He also suggested that in Democratic Country the ban on re-election after serving continuously for “Two-Terms” by the officer bearers of LETS is not good and need to be amended.
Sh. Rajnish Ahuja and Sh. S.C Ralhan purposed amendment in the bylaws of the society which were second by Sh. Narinder Bhamra. The house unanimously approved these amendments in the bylaws of the society. Everybody present in the house raised his hands in support of above decisions.
In the meeting, Directors of the LETS Sh. Jagatvir Singh Bittu, General Secretary, Daljit Singh Dicco, Sh. Rajinder Singh Sarhali and Sh. Jiwan Kumar Sood were presented.
The meeting was attended by S/Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, Gurmeet Singh kular, Phuman Singh, Gurpargat Singh Kahlon, Jaswinder Singh Thakural, Inderjit Singh Navyug , Avtar Singh bhogal, Ashwani Gupta, T.R Mishra, O.P Bassi and others industrialist were also presented.
