Adventure Sports in the surroundings of historic rock formations of Orvakal is an amazing experience, say visitors

Kurnool, June 10, 2017: Punnami Orvakal, the first ever full moon festival at Orvakal at Rock Garden at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh kicked off on Friday night on a promising note.

Dy Chief Minister Shri K.E.Krishnamurthy, Sri Kalava Srinivasulu, Minister for Rural Housing and Information and Public Relations and Ms. Bhuma Akhila Priya, Minister for Tourism and several other graced the inaugural function.

The ministers who spoke at the inaugural function highlighted the historical importance of the place.

KE Krishnamurthy said, foundation for Orvakal Airport may be laid by Chandrababu during his visit to the city on 21st of this month.

The day two of the festival began with fullbang with adventure sports.

Visitors were seen busy enjoying Paramotering, Zippline, Rappeling, Burma Bridge, Bungee Trampoline, Rock Climbing.

Team Freakout from Bangalore provided lot of adventure activities. Two Paramoters were used to entertain guests, informed Vamshi of Freakout, a Bangalore based adventure sports company.

We go upto maximum 1500meters height. Rides depends on wind conditions. Each of the paramoters cost Rs 15 lakh he said. We dont fly paramoters, if wind condition is not favourable said Vamshi. They have been the partners with AP Tourism. We have recently introduced Aerosports like Para Sailing informed Vamshi.

Zippline, Rappeling, Camping, Paramoterig will be introduced on a regular basis after this rainy season at Orvakal informed Vamshi.

Dr Narasimha Rao, along with his Doctor wife Radhika have come from Hyderabad. Described their experience as the most memorable. We liked staying in tents, he informed.

Kamal other visitor said the laser show, particularly the laser show on rocks at the inaugural function was very good.

Shirley, Patrick, Pooja from Bangalore said, though adventure sports are common, but in the surroundings of historic rocks added all the more excitement.

The entry to Area-1 is free. People in and around Kurnool and Orvakal are invited to witness the various activities and cultural programs.

The first ever Punnami Orvakal full moon festival will end tomorrow.

It is organized under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Govt of Andhra Pradesh and the festival is managed by Violet Worldwide.

The Rock Formations near Orvakal surfaced 3 billion years ago created a perfect setting for the festival which was visited by tourists from across regions from South India.

The organizers have lined up live performances by Shobana, one of the most sought after actresses and dancers; Revanth, Indian Idol Winner, and several other singers. Akshar The Band and Black Sheep are also line uo to enthrall guests with their live band performances. Besides these performances, Venetian Carnival, Mind Reader Mohit Rao and Illusion Artists shows are also scheduled.

The other attractions include Tethered Hot Air Balloon Ride, Rock Climbing, River Crossing, Indoor Bungee Trampoline, Rappeling, Zipline/flying, Water Walking, Rope Courses, Rock Trek, Paramotoring, Mash Machine and many more.
