Jalandhar, March 10, 2016: In continuation with the glorious history of the past, the citizen’s Army, also known as The Territorial Army is undertaking the adventurous and the breathtaking Cycle Expedition to the pristine and picturesque Killar Valley of Himachal Pradesh situated at height of 11000 feet. The expedition is being conducted under the aegis of the Territorial Group HQ, Western Command situated at Chandigarh. Major MS Negi alongwith a team of 11 members of 112 Infantry Battalion (TA) DOGRA will be conducting the expedition. The expedition was today flagged off from Pathankot and over the next 10 days, it will cover a total distance of 564 Kilometers through the Kangra and Kullu Valley, Manali and then cross over the Rohtang Pass situated at a height of 13051 feet to enter into Kinnaur, Udaipur and finally reach its destination at Killar.

The Killar Valley has always been a source of attraction for any adventure activity because of its dangerous road conditions and restricted accessibility apart from the mesmerizing natural beauty. During the flagging off ceremony, the same spirit of adventure could be felt among all the participants and they were looking forward for a life time experience. This expedition also aims to create awareness among the civilians about the Territorial Army.

Considering the prevalent weather and road conditions, special efforts were made to train and kit the team accordingly and special Mountain Bikes have been provided to them for this expedition. While flagging off the expedition, Brig Vinod Bhadu, Commander TA Gp Headquarter asked the team members to fully exploit this opportunity for creating lifetime memories.
