Chandigarh, April 10, 2015:  Elaborate arrangements have been made for holding free and fair by poll to be held in Dhuri on April 11.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Electoral Officer said that about 166 polling booths have been set up and 6 battalions of military and para-military forces have been deployed to conduct smooth by election. The entire polling staff has also reached at Dhuri along with the required election material. As many as 766 officials have been posted on polling duty.
He also said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, adequate arrangements have also been made for the voters’ during the polling hours. About 1.52 lakh voters would decide the fate of 12 candidates in fray. Giving further details, he said that out of the total voters’ there are 80, 561 male voters and 71, 391 female voters in Dhuri constituency.  The voters could vote between 8 am till 5 pm on April 11, he added.
The district and police administration has been asked to keep a close watch on the movements of anti-social elements in and around the polling booths. As many as 1800 police personnel have been put on duty in all the 166 polling stations, he added.
