ALL PARTY MEET constitutes 3-member committee for 4th session of 14th Punjab Vidhan Sabha

Chandigarh, March 9, 2013:  The All Party Meeting held here today decided to constitute a three member committee comprised of Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted functioning of all proceedings during the 4th  Session of the 14th Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

After presiding over All Party Meeting in view of ensuing Vidhan Sabha session scheduled to be commenced from March 11, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Charanjit Singh Atwal said that the committee would consider the issues concerned with the functioning of session. He said that Committee would convene a meeting before commencement of session to ensure the smooth functioning of the session.

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance Minister, Punjab, Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Sunil Jakhar, Leader of Opposition, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Congress MLA, Ashwani Sekhri, Congress MLA, while from the Bhartiya Janata Party Chunni Lal Bhagat, Local Bodies Minister and Madan Mohan Mittal, Health Minister, Punjab attended the All Party Meet. 

The Speaker said that in the previous session there were some objections on his performance, which were considered today in All Party Meeting and all parties has desired that there should be no repetition of last session in the ensuing session so the smooth and uninterrupted flow of proceeding can be assured. He said that all such issues would be sorted out after a detailed consideration before commencement of session.

Atwal also informed that Punjab Vidhan Sabha would be developed as world class legislative assembly and very soon laptops would be provided to every member of Punjab Legislative Assembly.
