ALLEGATION: Manpreet Badal’s in-laws and wife allege for selling 16 acres land fraudulently

Ferozepur, November 19, 2012:  An incident of fraudulently selling 16 acres of land, belonging to the Veenu Badal, wife of former finance minister and president PPP, Manpreet Singh Badal, Dr.Shavinder Kaur Johal, mother-in-law and Jai Jeet Singh, brothers-in-law, Paramjit Singh, Roopinder Singh, Navinder Singh and Tejinder Kaur, have come to notice.

They have alleged that Santokh Singh Patwari, in connivance with revenue department officials, has changed the original ownership in Jamabandi of 2010-11 in the name of Labh Singh, Harmandar Singh, Balwinder Singh, Joginder Singh and others.

Jai Jeet Singh Johal while showing the revenue record to the Press said, “They have neither sold the land to anybody nor any court has given its decision with regard to the ownership. It is not understood as to who the ownership in the revenue record has been changed”.

He further said, in Jamabandi of 2010-11, the ownership has been changed by entering the Intkal No.596/1, 599/1, 697/1 and 698/1.  But on scrutiny of Intkal register, these numbers have not been entered against any serial numbers.

Jai Jeet Johal said, the more surprising factors is that after change of ownership, Labh Singh and others have virtually taken a loan of Rs.10 lakh from OBC Bank Khai Pheme Ki and Feozepur Cantt in connivance with the officials of revenue department.   They have also alleged for not making proper scrutiny of papers by the bank officials.

He further said, the deputy commissioner has ordered an enquiry into the complaint submitted to the deputy commissioner, Ferozepur alongwith the relevant documents for registration of a case against all the delinquent officials for tempering with the record and making correcting in the ownership.

However, as per the sources, on contacting Patwari Santokh Singh informed that no registration of land has been undertaken and also there is no cheating on our part.

Santokh Singh clearing his position said, “When the revenue data was being computerised, the name of cultivator has been inadvertently entered in the column of ownership and the mistake of ownership of 16 acres land came to our notice on 20 August, 2012.  The same was, however, rectified after preparing the ‘fard’.

Patwari further said, the correction to this effect, in the revenue record was made on August 20, 2012, well before giving the complaint to the deputy commissioner and the same was approved on October 30 by the Tehsildar, Ferozepur.
