Chandigarh, December 4, 2012: The construction work of three new Judicial Complexes for Fazilka, SAS Nagar and Gidderbaha would be commenced this month. These projects of worth Rs.150 crore would be completed within stipulated timeframe.

While disclosing this here today, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, PWD Minister said that the construction of these new judicial complexes would start from December this year.

He said, “It was the long pending demand of these cities, which would be fulfilled now as the constructions of these complexes would be completed by the end of next year.”

He said that 5 new administrative complexes worth Rs.270 crore at Tarn Taran, Barnala, Ferozepur, Kapurthala and SAS Nagar, which are already under construction, would also become operational after March 2013.

PWD Minister said that SAD-BJP Government was committed to upgrade the standards of existing administrative, judicial complexes and public buildings. Under this campaign, the state would also witness 10 state-of-the-art Tehsil Complexes at Kharar, Tapa, Chamkaur Sahib, Dhuri, Bholath, Jagraon, Dera Baba Nanak, Moonak, Patran and Budhlada, while Rs.33 crore have been spent on the construction of other 11 new Tehsil Complexes, which were on the edge of completion, he added.

Dhillon further said that the construction work of 15 Universities and Colleges have been completed by the SAD-BJP Government to provide world class study environment with a combine cost of Rs.180 crore. He said that under construction judicial complexes at Kapurthala, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Barnala, Sardulgarh, Tarn Taran, Zira, Malout and Batala near completion with a total cost Rs. 280 crore, which would become operation by the end of next year.

He said that to tackle the menace of traffic, a special program for creation of Ring Roads in the state was also under consideration of state government.
