Annual Alumni Meet at MGN College of Education

Jalandhar, February 1, 2015: Alumni Association of M.G.N College of Education, Jalandhar on Saturday organised Annual Alumni Meet to cherish, celebrate and refresh old relationship and to form new ones. This Meet was presided over by the proud alumni of the College, Master Mohan Lal, Former Minister of Transport, Punjab. During this Meet, the Alumni Report was read by the Secretary of the Alumni Association Neelu Jhanji, who elaborated the vision, areas of focused work and needs of Alumni Association.

The President of Alumni Association Surjit Singh Walia, shared his experiences during the meet and emphasised the need of strengthening such associations to build new bridges and forge new partnerships.

 The Member of Alumni Association Jagdish Mitter of batch 1968, speaking on the occasion said that such meet are always helpful in retaining the connection between the institution and the individual. He also emphasised the need for alumni to participate in social welfare activities.

Alumni of the College Kanwar, the Sufi Singer and the alumni of the College, left everyone spellbound with his melodious voice. Alumni of the college, Poonam, working at K.M.V., Jalandhar also charmed the audience with her sweet voice. Ramesh, National Level Comedy Artist, gathered the appreciation of the audience.

Master Mohan Lal, the chief guest cherished the moments while being student in the College. He also said that such occasion give us time for reflection, remembering the good old time and looking forward with a sense of purpose and anticipation.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr.Amit Kauts reflected the great concern for the degrading value system in our country and he also appealed the would be teachers to educate the masses the forgotten values to the masses. He also said that we are looking forward for a greater partnership with Alumni in the days to come to serve the college community well.

Students of the college also presented Skit, Choreography and Punjabi folk dance ’Gidha’. On this occasion, toppers of the college during the session 2013-14 from B.Ed and M.Ed were honoured by Alumni Association.

Students from various batches right from the inception of the College shared their views and become nostalgic. Alumni of the College Master Mohan Lal ji of batch 1965, Dr Raghbir Singh Bains of batch 1970, Sh.Jagdish Mittar Vadhera each donated Five thousand to the Aumni Association. During the Meet Dr Ranjeet, Principal Alka Trehan of batch 1981, Bharat Bhushan Sharma of batch 1999, Vinod Bhatti (1997), Charanjit Singh Chohan (1987), Poonam Sharma (1999), Veena Joshi, K.S.Gahir (1973), Jaspal Singh (1986), Harpreet Kaur (1987), Brig.Harinder Singh Bhandal (1970), Meena Dhawan (1981), Sudhir Kumar of batch 1986 eminent alumni were present. The Stage was conducted by Gopal Krishan of batch 1999.
