Dharamshala, July 14, 2017: BJP MP Anurag Thakur condemned Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh’s callous and indifferent attitude towards the case of murder and rape case of a minor in Kotkhai that shook the entire state.
Commenting on the same, in a press release issued here Thakur said, “The Chief Minister has all the time to visit Delhi over and again for his different cases but has no time to visit the victim’s family at a time when the entire State is concerned due to this heinous incident.”
“After the incident, there was lot of resentment in the residents of State of Himachal Pradesh and Shimla residents in particular when the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh came out with a statement that the people of Kotkhai area are extra smart which was an insult to the residents of the area and it was their right to protest against the failure of State Government in maintaining law and order.”

He said, “This is not the first occasion when the Chief Minister has shown insensitivity towards a serious matter. In the past as well when there was Jaundice outbreak in Shimla, the Chief Minister took up the position that such instances occur and termed this as a minor instance. Similarly in the major bus accidental cases also he has never tried to visit the deceased families and only on selective basis he has visited. This clearly shows insensitivity and inefficiency of the Government particularly in this case.”
Adding further he said, “Such a Government has no right to remain in office for a single day and needs to be dismissed by the Governor as it has failed on all fronts, particularly the deteriorating law and order situation in the State points out in this direction.”
