Ludhiana, January 24, 2013: A seminar / awareness camp was organised by District Legal Services Authorities at Government College for Girls, Ludhiana on Thursday.

The chief guest for the occasion  CJM K. K. Singla, Dr. Ravinder Kala, Rajnish Lakhanpal Advocate and  guest of honour ADCP Nilambri Vijay Jagdale were welcomed by the worthy Gurminder Kaur.
The ADCP addressed the students by saying that there one difference, in police department and other departments, is that the other departments deal with files and their department deals with life.

She also insisted that police is also the part of society and it is  serving the society at its best.
While mentioning the Delhi rape case she informed the audiences about  the work of police department for the empowerment of women.

She shared  the achievements of Punjab police that they had submitted the charge  sheet of all the recent rape cases within fifteen days to the court  keeping in mind the state of the girl victims who feel awkward while  interacting with the male staff.

Further, she aware the students about the  gender specific policies , various helpline numbers like 1091,  presence of two lady constables at each Suvidha Center (Sanjh) and  establishment of All Women Police Stattion in the city.

Dr. Ravinder Kala emphasised on the development of the personal  attitude that can help the females to escape from the vulnerable  situations.

CJM K.K. Singla throws light on the current activities of  the Punjab Judiciary that 50% of judges selected by HC are girls and  two fast track courts have been formed for the above said problem. He  motivated girls to opt for judiciary as their career.
