BANK MANAGER to be responsible to keep in order CCTV Camera at ATMs

The deputy commissioner, Ferozepur Manjit Singh Narang, in a meeting with the representative of the various banks and police officers of district headquarters, at Mini Secretariat to keep a check over the fake currency notes.

Ferozepur, January 30, 2013: It will be  the responsibility of the concerned Bank Manager in case fake currency notes are found on withdrawal of cash from the ATM.  Besides this, all ATMs must be equipped with CCTV cameras so that in case of any untoward incident, the culprits could be nabbed by identifying them and to keep the CCTV cameras in order will also be responsibility of the Bank Manager. 

These orders were given by the deputy commissioner, Manjit Singh Narang, in a meeting with the representative of the various banks and police officers of district headquarters, at Mini Secretariat to keep a check over the fake currency notes.

Deputy Commissioner said, he will personally visit each ATM to check CCTV cameras in order.

He also directed the officers of police department to give directions to the PCR teams to check the working of CCTVs cameras at the ATMs.  

Narang further said that each bank must have currency counting machines and special camps may be organised for the bank employees to give them training to identify between fake and genuine currency notes besides making awareness in the public so that innocent people may not become a victim of fake currency notes.

He also said that before the next meeting, each bank must have currency counting machine and the CCTV cameras are in order. 

He advised the Reserve Bank officers to make arrangements to give training by organising special camps to the police officials also to identify the fake currency notes.
