Ludhiana, August 21, 2012: On the call given by United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), Punjab Bank Employees Union is observing two-day nation-wide strike on August 22and 23.
According to Punjab Bank Employees Federation, Ludhiana secretary Naresh Gaur, the employees demand settling of pending issues, stopping of arbitrary guidelines on human resources issues, unilateral implementation of Khandelwal Committee recommendations , outsourcing of bank jobs, banking sector reforms and closure of rural branches.
He told that on August 22 Punjab Bank Employees Federation was going to hold a massive rally infront of Canara Bank, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Ludhiana from 10.15 a.m. He said prominent leaders of the federation would address the protesting bank employees.
