BIKKAR Bai Senti Mental to hit cinemas on April 19

Ludhiana, March 31, 2013: “Jeeti’s character is very close to my heart. She is a strong woman, the rock support of her adamant husband who dares to challenge the rules of world. Every woman will be able to relate with her,” said actress Preeti Jhangiani, who is all set to rock Punjabi cinema with second Punjabi movie Bikkar Bai Senti Mental pairing opposite singer-turned-actor Jassi Jasraj.

In the city to promote her movie, Preeti was talking to the media persons here today flanked by Jassi Jasraj. Preeti said in the movie she plays role of a woman who marries against the wishes of her parents. “Like many other Punjabi women in the society, my character finds herself in a situation where she has to be rock support of her husband, Bikkar Bai played by Jassi Jasraj, who dares to speak against the injustice in the world and challenges it,” she said.

She added, “Jeeti undergoes an emotional turmoil where she is pitted between her love for her husband and that for her child. It’s a true depiction of rebellion Punjabi man’s uprightness and his family.”

Speaking at the occasion Jassi Jasraj added that the movie is set in the times when every Punjabi has a question to ask, but is subsided under societal pressure. It’s a not to be missed family entertainer complete with love, drama, action and romance, he said.

To be released in April, movie Bikkar Bai revolves around a youngster who becomes larger than life following a chain of events spun around him.

Shanti Films and Production Films have collaborated for this venture which will be released on April 19. Besides Preeti and Jassi Jasraj, the other star cast of movie includes Rana Ranbir, Shahbaz Khan, Sardar Sohi, Kanwalpreet and Bobby Sandhu. Gautam Nagrath has directed the movie who was also assistant director of the Bollywood film Garv – Pride and Honor. Producers of the movie are Sandeep bansal and Kamaljit Kaur, while Prabhjot Kaur Mahant has helped in as assistant producer. Singers Jassi Jasraj, Diljit Dosanjh, JSL and Taranum have sung the songs, while Jassi Jasraj, Ikka, Baljinder Mahant and Deep Jagdeep have penned the lyrics.

The movie has been shot in and around Chandigarh.
