Ludhiana, August 26, 2015: Burger King, the American burger chain is all set to launch its first store in Ludhiana on 28th August 2015. The outlet is the second in Punjab, with one in Chandigarh which opened in the month of May. The store is located at a convenient, central location on the ground floor in Aman Plaza, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana.
With the opening of this outlet, Burger King has 26 outlets across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chandigarh since its launch in November 2014. With robust expansion plans, the brand now plans to expand its footprint in Punjab, Hyderabad and Chennai in the coming months.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Rajeev Varman, CEO, Burger King India said, ‘We have been receiving an overwhelming response from Chandigarh and with the Ludhiana launch, we are glad to strengthen our foothold in Northern India. We look forward to serving our much loved burgers, especially the Whopper, to our guests at Ludhiana.”
He added "India is a unique market. The taste palates though is experimental, mostly people like to savour the taste they are brought up with. That is why we have created an entirely new menu for India. We did not carry products from abroad but carried concepts and the cooking platform and ethos that Burger King is known for. Burger King India’s menu is quite innovative and we wish to offer our customers a whole new experience of burgers. We wish to create a distinct identity and taste that our consumers with resonate with.”
The menu for India was tested through consumer research with 3000 consumers prior to the launch. Apart from the flagship Whooper (R), which is available for Indian consumers in Veg, Chicken and Mutton variants, the brand also has on offer a very unique and tasty Chicken Tandoor Grill burger which is one of the bestselling product and a favourite across markets. In its endeavour to offer innovative and great tasting products to customers, the brand has recently introduced Hi-Fries in three variants – cheesy, Italian and Chicken and Chicken Keema Crunch burger.
Burger King has also introduced a very easy upgrade to combo pricing that helps customers enhance their dining experience. You can upgrade any burger to a combo including fries and a fountain drink at just INR 50 across the menu.
The unique appeal for Burger King lies in the quality where the brand is conscious of its standards and uses 100 percent protein like chicken and mutton to form the patties and uses pulp of real fruit in its shakes.
