Jalandhar, February 6, 2016: “The moment of victory is much too short to live for that and nothing else,” said Martina Navratilova, tennis player. Apart from commemorating victories, sports meets also aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to children. Cambridge International Foundation School celebrated the first day of their annual Sports Day on 2nd February. The Sports day started off with the speech by the chief guest Mr. Sikand whose speech was inspiring and valuable. He declared the sports meet open. As the students’ wild cheers went high in the air, the athletes, with grit and determination, raced to achieve victory and glory for their respective houses. The Sports Day consisted of track events and drill by the students, short and long races, shot put and hurdle races and various other interesting events that were held for a period of three days. All the students of KG, PYP and CBSE actively participated in all the events. Certificates, prizes and medals were distributed among the winners at the end of the Sports Day on 4th Feb, 2016. All the four houses participated in the events and Pine House was declared the overall champion. The programme demonstrated the aim of CIFS to promote the sporting talent right from a young age. It was indeed a great way to motivate and inspire students to challenge themselves and aspire for greater heights.
