CHANDIGARH, June 20, 2017: Condemning the attack on trucks carrying rations for Amarnath pilgrims from Bathinda, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday directed government officials to coordinate with their counterparts in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure security of all such cavalcades going from Punjab.

Captain Amarinder also urged the Jammu & Kashmir government to ensure total security along the entire pilgrimage route.

More than 100 organizations from Punjab have been organizing free langars for the yatra pilgrims for years and their security and safety is a matter of concern, said Captain Amarinder, following reports of stoning of the Bathinda trucks, causing damage to the vehicles and injuries to the driver as well as a manager of the `langar’ organization.
