CAPTAIN AMARINDER MOURNS PASSING AWAY OF SENIOR JOURNALIST HUKAM CHAND SHARMA

Chandigarh, June 20, 2017: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Bureau Chief of Ajit based at Bathinda Mr.Hukam Chand Sharma (69), who passed away this evening after a brief illness. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described Mr.Sharma as 'a true professional committed to the ethics of journalism besides a fine human being with the qualities of head and heart'. In the death of Mr. Sharma, the journalistic fraternity has been bereft of a well experienced and a true votary of freedom of press, who would be ever remembered by one and all for his fearless reporting and outstanding services in the field of journalism.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to them to bear this huge loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
