New Delhi, July 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against then Assistant Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Goa and others.  It was alleged that the public servant had misappropriated the Government fund to the tune of Rs.12 lakhs while organising the National Vendor Development Programme (NVDP) & function at Panaji and thereby caused loss to the organization.
The MSME organizes NVDP (National Vendor Development Programme) every year. NVDP is an event for developing business activities for small scale entrepreneurs and their industrial ventures, by organizing a meeting of SSI (Small Scale -Micro & Medium Industries) with large scale PSUs/Govt. Departments. Ministry of MSME provides Central Govt. funds for organizing such programmes every year to MSME Development Institute of Goa. Also, in addition to this, MSME, Goa collected funds by way of sponsorships from different PSUs/State Govt. Departments for organizing this programme.
Searches were carried out at the residence and office premises of the accused at Goa and Mumbai, which resulted in the recovery of files & other related documents; Blank printed bills, both signed as well as unsigned having rubber stamps of different firms and blank letterheads along with blank signed & stamped receipts. Further, documents related to investments made by the accused which includes Immovable properties; Movable assets; Share Certificates; Bonds; LIC Policies and Term Deposits were also recovered. The documents are being scrutinised.
Further investigation is continuing.
