CELEBRATIONS: Dussera celebrated with great pomp and show

Jalandhar, October 24, 2012: The festival of Dusshera was celebrated with great pomp and show at various places in the City, including Sai Dass Anglo School Ground, Bulton Park, Adarsh Nagar, Government School, Chhoti Bardari, Netaji Park, Ladewali, Kot Ram Dass, PUDA Complex and Guru Gobind Singh Enclave.

Meanwhile, Shree Mahakali Mandir Dussera Committee also celebrated the day. Shobha yatra was taken out before the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Khumkaran were put to fire. Among others, Tarsem Kapur ,Dr Iqbal Singh , Lt Governor Pondicharry, BJP National Executive Member and state unit spokesperson Manoranjan Kalia, Chief Parliamentary Secretary K.D. Bhandari , Mayor Sunil Jyoti, former Punjab Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, Bhupinder Sehgal, Om Dutt Joshi, BJP state secretary Ravi Mahendru, Dr Vipan Anand, Rajiv Walia, Amit Garg, Pawan Malhotra, Ram Gopal Gupta, Dharampaul Arora, Dr Parvinder Bajaj, Parveen Handa, Pawan Kapoor Gora, Jawahar Chopra, Jimmi Kalia, Naresh Vij, Sudershan Nayyer, Gulshan Mehta, Rajat Mohindru, Vinod Aggarwal, Inderjit Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Nathu Ram, Satinder Khanna Timmy, Joginder Paul Pinky and Varinder Aggarwal were present.

Similarly, Mahanagar Dussera Committee also celebrated the festival at Government School. Senior Committee Members Dewan Amit Arora, Naresh Tatai, Surinder Anand, Raj Kumar Chaudhary, Parveen Handa, Sushil Talwar, Mohinder Paul Pandit and Balram Sharma were among those present.
