Central team visiting Punjab to assess damage to paddy; relief in offing: Capt Amarinder

Chandigarh/Jalandhar, October 21, 2013: A high level central delegation will be visiting Punjab in next few day to assess the damage caused to the paddy due to moisture and will suggest various relief measures.
Disclosing this here today, former Punjab Chief Minister and the Permanent Invitee to the Congress Working Committee Capt Amarinder Singh said that after visiting some mandis in Doaba area he spoke to Union Minister of State for Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs KV Thomas about the problem being faced by the farmers in Punjab.
Capt Amarinder said, Thomas assured him that the central team will take a sympathetic view of the situation and ensure that the farmers have not to suffer on account of moisture or colouration of the paddy. www.cityairnews.com
