Ludhiana, August 21, 2012: Rs.328.16 crore project of four-laning of Ludhiana-Doraha  road was supposed to be completed on October 31 this year. But, the project is getting late. Next deadline for completion of this project has been fixed as March 31next year.

These revelations have been made by Punjab PWD Minister, Sharanjit  Singh Dhillon while speaking to the media persons here today.

During a visit to the site near Sidhwan canal here to review progress of the ongoing project, Dhillon told alleged that the project was getting delayed because of unnecessary hurdles being created by the Centre.

Dhillon told that two railway bridges fall on the way from Ludhiana to Doraha along Sidhwan Canal. “The Department of Railways has been creating unnecessary delays in giving the required sanctions”, he said.

Adding, Dhillon told that some sanctions had been given by the Railways. Still, complete sanctions were to be given, he said.

Further, he told that once the project was completed people would be able to cover the distance from Ludhiana to Doraha in 12 minutes instead of 45 minutes at present.
