CHANDIGARH TRIBUNE TEAM WINS KICKSTART INTER MEDIA 5- A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

INTER MEDIA FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT – KICKSTART HELD
Chandigarh, February 12, 2017: Kickstart Inter Media Five-a-Side football tournament, organised by Chandigarh Press Club in collaboration with The British School, Sec 44 B, Chandigarh & Kickstart Football Club (KFC) was played on KFC’s first Astro-Turf stadium in tricity, established in The British School, Chandigarh, premises.

The one day tournament which was played on league format saw 6 league matches played. The first match was played between Punjab Kesri & Tribune Proof reading teams. Tribune Proof reading won 4-1. Sanam scored 2 goals & Jupinderjit One goal for Tribune Proof Reading. For Punjab Kesari Handa scored the single goal. In the second match between Chandigarh Tribune & team of (Dainik & Punjabi Tribune), the former drubbed the latter 7-0. Deepankar scored 4 times, Sandeep 2 times & Ishrat once. The third outing was between Press Club & HJCC, HJCC defeated Press club 6-4. For HJCC Kamleshwar scored 2, Sanjeev 3 goals & Amit one goal. Press Club saw Rohit scoring 2 goals and Vikrant & Kanwar scoring one goal each. The fourth league match was between Tribune Advertising & Tribune Newsroom. Tribune advertising beat Tribune Newsroom 5-0. Umesh scored 3 and Ajay 2 goals for the winning team. In the fifth league match Tribune Proof reading played against Tribune Administration. The former defeated the latter 2-0. Jupinderjit & Sanjay Kalia scored one goal each. The last league match was between Dainik Bhaskar & Chandigarh Tribune.

The former lost to latter 0-2. Sandeep & Ishrat scored one goal each for Chandigarh Tribune.

The 1st semi final saw HJCC play against Tribune Proof Reading. The former lost to the latter 0-4. Sanam Gurung scored 3 goals & Jupinderjit 1 for Tribune Proof Reading while Kamleshwar scored 1 goal. The 2nd semi match was between Tribune Advertising & Chandigarh Tribune & was won by Chandigarh Tribune 2-0. Deepankar & Sandeep scored one goal each. The face off in Finals was between Chandigarh Tribune & Tribune Proof reading & Chandigarh Tribune beat Tribune Proof reading easily 4-0. Sandeep Rana scored 2 goals & Ishrat Banwait also 2 goals.

After the finals a prize distribution ceremony was also held.
