GM RCF Sh Ratan Lal with the Winners of CLW team.
Kapurthala: Chittranjan Locomotive Works, Chittranjan, West Bengal clinched the Championship title in 62nd All India Inter Railway Golf Championship which concluded here at the Rail Coach Factory Golf Course. Railway Sports Promotion Board had entrusted RCF Sports Association of organizing this championship from 17th to 19th November 2017.
13 Railway Teams across the country participated in this championship. Each team play four golfers besides one licensed player. The Championship held promise for several young and talented golfers as a large number of amateur players from various railways participated in it.
General Manager of RCF, Mr Ratan Lal presented the coveted T S Russel Cup to the Winner CLW team which dominated on both days with a score of 470 .Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi team got first runners up place with a score of 478, while South Western Railway, Hubli's team secured second runners up with a score of 484.
Giriraj Singh of North Western Railway, Jaipur was given the Best Golfer Award for the gross score of 147. Jagmohan Singh of RCF was given the prize for the net score of 71 and the gross score of 75. In the licensed player category Sandeep Rawat was declared winner was given the first prize. Mrs. Moorti Singh was the winner in Ladies Putting Event.
Mr. C.M. Jindal, President of RCF Spots Association, Vice President Mr. K D Ralh, Hony. General Secretary Mr. S. S. Kalsi Mr. S. K Suri, Former GMRCF , Mr. G S Hira Member Technical Committee of Railway Board, Mr. Vivek Kumar DRM / Ferozepur etc. were present on the occasion of Award Ceremony.
Mr. Ratan Lal complimented for the successful organizing of the golf competition and praised the golf skills shown by the golfers. He said that RCF Golf Course is one of the finest golf courses in the country . RCF has best facilities for all sports and this is the 11th chance for RCF to host this championship Distinguished golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar is the proud product of this golf course.
