Civil Surgeons' Conference chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Vini Mahajan

Chandigarh, February 16, 2017: A Civil Surgeons Conference was held here today at Parivar Kalyan Bhawan under the chairpersonship of Ms.Vini Mahajan Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Punjab, Sh. Hussan Lal, Secretary Health cum MD-PHSC & NHM, Punjab, Sh.Vikas Garg, Special Secretary Health, Dr.H.S.Bali, Director Health Services, Punjab, Dr.Dharmpal Director Family Welfare, Punjab, Dr.Gulshan Rai, Director ESI, Dr.Shashi Kant, Director-NHM, Dr.Rajesh Sharma, Director-PHSC were present besides all the Civil Surgeons of districts and the Programme Officers from State Headquarter.
During the meeting the performance of the districts with regard to various health indicator were reviewed. Ms. Vini Mahajan reviewed the expenditure done by the districts under different component of National Health Mission. She exhorted the districts to fully utilized the funds made available in the districts under National Health Mission Programme. She further asked the Civil Surgeons to ensure that court evidence’s by doctors in various district courts are facilitated through Video Conferencing technology in order to save precious time of doctors to serve the patients. For this many district hospitals already have installed Video Conferencing facility, however, wherever not available, the same should be installed within 15 days, she told the civil surgeons. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) also asked that district hospitals to start providing facility of Chemotherapy for the patients who have already been put on the treatment by Medical Colleges and tertiary institutions. She emphasized that all ANM’s should be trained for physical examination of CB, VIA and oral. She also said that evening OPD may be made operational in all districts at the earliest.
Sh. Hussan Lal emphasized the Civil Surgeons to maintain proper cleanliness in the hospital. He stressed to ensure that hospital linen & bed sheets etc should be properly cleaned & changed time to time and toilets should be cleaned regularly. He also said that hospitals should have proper boundaries & wherever the boundaries are damaged they should be repaired immediately.
