CM ASSURES PROBE INTO POST MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FUND DIVERSION

Chandigarh, June 15, 2017: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today assured the House of a detailed probe into the alleged diversion of the Post Matric Scholarship scheme funds.
Intervening during the Question Hour, Chief Minister and Leader of the House Captain Amarinder, in a response to a question, assured the House that the entire matter would be thoroughly examined to fix the accountability and identify lapses, if any. Strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty of such lapses, he said.
Earlier, MLA Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal raised the issue of diversion of funds and inordinate delay on the part of the Center in releasing funds for disbursement of scholarships to the eligible students under Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SCs.
Meanwhile, Minister for SC/BC welfare Sadhu Singh Dharamsot informed the House that the Chief Minister had already taken up the issue with GOI for immediate release of pending funds. He also revealed that State Chief Secretary and he had personally gone to Delhi to pursue the matter and get the release of funds expedited.
