“Increase in RR rates at this juncture when markets are not very promising is not a very positive development. The effect of increase is a multiplying one for the industry as most charges including fungible FSI are calculated as a percentage of RR value.

The customer will have to shell out more Development charges as builders will pass on the burden to them.

When the government is promoting housing on one hand and increasing cost by increasing service tax as well as RR value, both actions go contrary to its objective.”
