Jalandhar, May 5, 2015: Under the guidance and supervision of Centre Government and Punjab Tourism Ministry, CT Group of Institutions organised felicitation ceremony of Tourism’s free training scheme- 'Hunar Se Rozgar Tak’ (HSRT) at its the premises of CT Institute of Hotel Management, Shahpur on Tuesday.

The felicitation ceremony was held after free training in Food Production and Housekeeping Utility and making 14 batches having 30 students in each batch of learners’ employable in different sectors. The new batches were being trained for ‘Food & Beverage Services’ (Waiters) and ‘Bakery & Patisseries Production’ (Bakers).

The ceremony was inaugurated Pawan Kumar Tinu (Chief Parliamentary Secretary) in the presence of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director, CT Institutions) and Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, Hospitality). The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr. Basanta Rajkumar (Executive Director, Tourism Department Punjab).

Addressing the students, Pawan Kumar Tinu said, “Government of India, Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has launched HSR for creation of employable skills amongst youth belonging to economically weaker sections. In furtherance of this great initiative, state government has entrusted CT group of Institutions to execute the project. This scheme has definitely been so fruitful for the learners.”

It is to mention, the basic objective is to reduce skill gap that affects growing hospitality and tourism sector tremendously. Minimum qualification for the applicants is 8th standard, and they should be between the age group of 18 to 28 years. In addition to Tool kit and Uniform, a stipend of Rs 1500 for ‘Food & Beverage Services’ and Rs.2000 for ‘Bakery & Patisseries Production’ will be provided to the candidates. Basanta Rajkumar (Executive Director, Tourism Department Punjab) said that a skill test was conducted at the end of each course, and those who pass the skill test were awarded certificates. To be eligible for certificate and stipend, the trainee must have 90% attendance during the courses. He said, “Every institution should step forward to eradicate employment from the society.”

Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) thanked Punjab Government for entrusting their institutions for extending this social cause.
