DC warns Gram Sewak and BDPOs

Ludhiana, August 28, 2012: Deputy Commissioner Rahul Tiwari has warned to take strict action against those Gram Sewak and BDPOs who would be found negligent in performing their duties under MNREGA schemes across the district.

Addressing a meeting of BDPOs and other concerned officials related to the implementation of the MNREGA Scheme, he said the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Wanted that all the villages should be covered under the scheme. He pointed out that the Scheme served dual purpose, firstly, it gave employment to unemployed people and secondly, it brought development in the rural areas.

Further, Deputy Commissioner said that a crèche worker could be appointed against five children in a village where women were working under the MNREGA Scheme, so that proper care of women and their children could be ensured. He asserted that quality of work should be ensured in the ongoing works under the MNREGA Scheme.

He told that the next meeting would be held after 20 days, which all the ongoing works under the Scheme would be thoroughly reviewed.

Among others, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Rishipal singh, Harkanwal Singh, BDPO, Raikot, Navneet Joshi, BDPO, Sadhar, Harmandeep Singh, BDPO, Doraha, Amarjit Singh, BDPO, Jagraon, Kuldip Singh, BDPO, Sidhwan Bet, Gurpreet Singh, BDPO, Samrala and Sarabjit Kaur, BDPO, Khanna were present.
