Delegation of FICO visits Mifa in Germany

Ludhiana, August 27, 2014: A delegation of Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisations (FICO), Ludhiana on Wednesday under the leadership of Harjeet Singh Sondh (Vice Chairman FICO) visited Mifa Mittledeutsche Fahrradwerke AG- largest bicycles manufacturing company having capacity of 5200 cycles per day at Handgershsphen in Germany.

According to available information here, the company is manufacturing and assembling high end bicycles on fully automatic assembly lines. Mifa is producing bicycles ranging from 200 to 2500 Euros (Rs.16000 to Rs.2 lakhs) from children bicycles to high-end MTB catering to all parts in Europe being the biggest in the country.

The company is a unique blend of robots, German Technology, automatic lines, advance material handling, sophisticated storage systems and human resources.

All the incoming materials is fed to the multi-level computerised storage system which delivers automatically to the various assembly lines.  Further assembled cycles are again fed to a ten story robotic storage facility with a capacity of storing 40,000 different bicycles at any given time.

The system is so advance that bicycles can be recalled at click of button as per requirement of customer depending on colour or model.
