Jalandhar, January 17, 2013: With a 2-1 victory over Mumbai Magicians on Wednesday at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi, Delhi Waveriders continue to be on top of the Hero Hockey India League Points Table with ten points, and five points clear of the Ranchi Rhinos who are second on the table, having played only one game in the tournament. Meanwhile beginning their stint in this tournament with two losses is the team from Jalandhar, the Jaypee Punjab Warriors at number three position with two points and finally the Mumbai Magicians at the bottom with one point.

Jaypee Punjab Warriors will now play their third match against Uttar Pradesh Wizards who are yet to showcase their skills in this tournament today, at 20:00 hrs at theSurjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar.

Jaypee Punjab Warriors coach Barry Dancer said “Our team is gelling and learning together. We are training together and understanding each others’ game. Although we started on the wrong note we are making amendments internally. I am happy with my team’s overall performance and we will do better in our next match.”

Following this Ranchi Rhinos would be taking on Mumbai Magicians at their home ground Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchitomorrow, 18 January 2013 at 20:00hrs.

There will be a live telecast of both the matches on Star Sports (Hindi Commentary) and Star Cricket (English Commentary).
