Dharamshala, March 9, 2017: Australian and Indian cricket teams are engaged these days in the 4 test cricket series in India . The series is already way down with both the teams on balanced, winning a tests each. The third test will start at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi on 16 March . It shall be a decisive test of the current series.
The geography of the area indicates that this only high altitude pitch of India, will slightly favors Australia as it resembles the Australian climate. The climate here is cold which favors quick bowlers during the start and the closing hours of the daily play, because of the over shadow of the snow laden Dhauladhar ranges ,which are still experiencing the heavy snowfall. Many multi days duration first class matches staged here so far, are the proof of the local cool/cold conditions, which dominates the early and late hours of the play.
The previous results of the HPCA pitch indicates that here pitch always helps the quick bowlers, where as the spinners being benefited during the mid days play. The pitch normally does not break here and the ball comes to normal bounce which also favors the technical batting.
As it is the first ever test match being played here, is also the real test of this high altitude pitch shall be on the stake.
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association’s HPCA Stadium, is a picturesque cricket stadium located in the city of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, India. The town of Dharamshala is best known internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet.
