DIRECTIONS: Parking of government money in different bank accounts

Departments told to give details

Chandigarh, October 19, 2012: The Punjab Government has taken strong exception to the different department parking the government money in bank accounts of different banks and asked all departments to immediately give details of bank accounts maintained by each department to the Finance Department at the earliest.

In this regard the finance department has  issued directions to all the departments to submit complete information of their bank accounts on prescribed Performa within 15 days.

While disclosing this here, an official spokesperson of Finance Department said that it has brought to the notice of government that many departments have opened their accounts with different banks on their name. He said that in written directions to all the Departmental Heads, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, Finance Department have ordered to submit complete account detailup till September 30, 2012 of their departments within 15 days.
