Divisional Commissioner reviews election arrangements in district Ludhiana

District Election Officer and Returning Officers provide information regarding the election arrangements; Instructs to lay more emphasis on Sveep Activites
Ludhiana, January 22, 2017: Divisional Commissioner Patiala, Sh.Sumer Gurjar had a meeting with the district election officers at the local Circuit house to review the election arrangements for the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2017.While addressing the meeting, Sh.Gurjar took notice of the election arrangements. He instructed to follow the modal code of conduct strictly for the assembly elections. He motivated to have a fair, smooth, transparent, and peaceful election.

He asked to contact him anytime in case of emergency during elections. He showed faith in the election arrangements of the city. He instructed to use sveep activities more and more for the aim of 100 percent voting. Besides, the Returning Officers were asked to visit and guide the voters for the ethical use of voting where the voters could be influenced by unfair means or by political agents, candidates, or influential people.

On this occasion, District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat, Additional District Election Officer cum Additional Deputy Commissioner (w) Ms. Apneet Riyat and all the Returning Officers intimated him with the work done in all the constituencies of the district and assured him to have a fair, transparent, and peaceful election. Deputy Commissioner said that all the concerned teams were on their toes for the smooth conduct of election. All the Returning Officers were present on the occasion.
