DMCH: “Navjot Kaur Ms. Fresher”

Ludhiana, December 4, 2012: To welcome the new batch of B.Sc. and M.Sc Nursing students, a fresher function “ISLE TO BLOOM-2012” was organised by the College of Nursing, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana today.
Guests of Honour for the event were Amrit Nagpal, Vice- President, DMCH Managing Society and Principal of DMCH- Dr Daljit Singh.
Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Principal, College of Nursing, DMC&H welcomed the freshers and exhorted the students to take a vow to carry on the responsibilities of the nursing profession with dedication. She also mentioned that clinical competency is highly important for a nurse. Nurses should feel proud of their profession as it is the noblest profession in the world.
Thereafter, the students entertained the audience in a colorful cultural function. Play on “Heer-Ranjha” and Mime on “Communal Harmony” were heart touching performances by the freshers and the B. Sc 2nd year students.
Fresher Nursing students participated in Ms fresher contest. Navjot Kaur was declared Ms. fresher. First and second runner up were Manpreet Grewal and Aishwarya Rai Sandhu, respectively. Judges for the event were Dr. Jasbir Kaur, Dr. Sarit, Dr Suresh K Sharma Prabhjot Saini and Nidhi.
Dr Poonam Singh, Dr Navjot, and Dr Jasbir Kaur crowned the Ms fresher. Anurag B Patidar, Sandeep Kaur and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
