DMCH widenes its scope of services offered by Liver Transplant Unit

Ludhiana, February 11, 2017: Liver Transplant Unit of DMCH with specialist liver surgeons, gastroenterologists, anaesthesiologists, radiologists (diagnostic and interventional) and ICU specialists, are working as a dedicated team complemented by state-of-art equipments for providing comprehensive liver care under one roof.

Dr Punit Singla has recently joined as Specialist Liver Surgeon in DMCH. His main field of interest is liver transplant with safe donor surgeries. Dr Singla is a graduate of DMCH Ludhiana, who completed his post-graduation in General Surgery from Sardar Patel Medical College, Bikaner in Rajasthan. He was trained in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, followed by Liver Transplantation fellowship from Medanta Medicity hospital Gurgaon. Dr Punit Singla has many international and national publications and chapters in GI surgery books to his credit.

Dr HRS Girn has already been working in Liver Transplant Unit since its starting in the beginning of year 2015, who after completing his graduation and went to UK for surgical training and specialisation. Dr Girn finished his general surgical training under the auspices of Yorkshire School of Surgery and was awarded MRCS (Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh) in 2005.

According to Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta, Liver Transplant Unit at DMCH is well-equipped with the most modern facilities and carries out almost all major surgeries pertaining to liver resection and transplantation.
