World Asthma Day was observed at Doon Public School, Panchkula.

Panchkula, May 5, 2015: Doon Public School, Panchkula observed World Asthma Day in collaboration with Rotary Club, Panchkula. Taking up the initiative to spread awareness about asthma, students of Doon Public School organized a rally on this occasion.

Dr.Suman Kumar, Chairman Respiratory Diseases and Clinical Immunology Society of India kick started the session in which causes and preventive measures of asthma were touched upon. Students took this as an opportunity to clear their doubts and myths about asthma and also showcased their knowledge on the topic.

The Chief Guest of the day O.P. Singh, IPS Commissioner of Police Ambala Range advised the students to identify the trigger points of asthma and carefully follow the doctor’s advice. He motivated the students to use eco-friendly vehicles like bicycles. He also emphasized on the importance of running and doing physical exercises

As a prelude to World Asthma Day celebration, a Poster Making Competition was held for students of classes VI to IX. The prize winners of this competition were awarded by the Chief with mementos and appreciation certificates. Principal Capt. Sanjay Anand SM congratulated the winners and encouraged the students to lead healthy lifestyles and adopt practices to keep asthma at bay.
