Jalandhar, October 24, 2015: Dr Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV, has been involved in a Research Project by Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA. The project involves fifteen top educationists from across the globe. Dr.Atima Sharma is the only scholar from India to be involved in this project which aims to bring about global perspective into desired change in higher education. The title of the Research project is, “Including Ourselves in the Change Equation : Personal Learning for Organizational Performance”. Prof. Bob Keegan and Prof. Lisa Lahey of Harvard Graduate School of Education (Professional Education) are leading the Research Project. Dr. Atima Sharma has worked on the project from September 15 onwards. Regular tele-conferences and on-line team work with fellow researchers from across the globe is going on to progress this project. This Research project will help develop conclusions on how organizational changes can be brought about for quality enhancement. Leaders in education and other professional sectors need to upgrade their skill sets, but more importantly, their mind sets as well. This project takes a basic premise that it is difficult to bring about significant improvements in education without first considering the need to embrace changes in ourselves. Bringing about big changes externally usually requires big changes internally.
Commenting on the project, Dr. Atima Sharma said that our country needs an overhauling of education system. Leaders in education must be well aware of the challenges, opportunities, solutions and future course that will build a strong base of our systems. Life must be a continuous learning process, she added. She said, “I am very honoured that Harvard University has included me in this high profile project. I will stand to gain a lot from it. I am very confident that this experience will help me to bring about good changes and development for my institution and students studying here.”
It may be revived that Dr. Atima Sharma is an alumna of Harvard Graduate School of Education where she had attended a program for Education administrators and leaders in 2012.
