Dreaded gangster nabbed by Ferozepur Police

Ferozepur, February 11, 2017: In a early morning swoop down, Ferozepur police with the help of STF achieved major success and nabbed five gangsters identified as Gahia Khan, a resident of Village Mehtoi, District Sangrur, Boota Khan, a resident of Village Takhar Khurd in Sangrur district, Stephan and Vishal, both resident of Makhu and Aman, a resident of Faridkot.
It is pertinent to mention here that Gahia Khan and Boota Khan are already involved in several cases of murder and attempt to murder.
Gahia Khan, in fact was the mastermind of the recent shootout which took place at Malerkotla in which Gahia, along with his other accomplices, had opened fire and one person was killed. Since then, Gahia was eluding the police.
On Thursday, after a tip off, the police tried to nab Gahia at Village Jitwal Kalan in Sangrur. Gahia though managed to escape, but one youth was killed in the incident by the police.
Gahia along with his other accomplices, Boota Khan, Stephan, Vishal and Aman were hiding in a rented house.
“We received information that they were hiding at Makhu block. When we reached there they opened fire at us and after brief exchange of fire from both sides, the accused were arrested,” said SSP Gaurav Garg.
The police also recovered one pistol .315 bore, one pistol .32 bore and 40 live cartiredges from them.
As per the sources, these gangsters used to operate from in Gurdaspur, Batala and other areas, for several weeks now.
