Chandigarh, November 3, 2015: The Education Department, Punjab, would soon fill the 11652 posts on regular basis and the advertisement to this effect would be issued within one week. The recruitment process to be made regarding different cadres would be completed during the present session so that newly recruited staff could be deputed in the vacant schools before the next academic session.
Disclosing this, the Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that the department had made recruitments in the different cadres in the past and filled the 3953 posts and now with the new recruitments in respect of 11652 posts, no school of the state would be devoid of the services of teachers. Giving details, Dr. Cheema said that the department would recruit 50 principals, 430 head teachers, 650 lecturers, 7000 master cadre and 3522 primary teachers. He said that qualifying the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (T.E.T.) would be mandatory for master cadre and primary teachers. He also said that the recruitments would be made on regular basis.
Dr. Cheema said that the recruitment advertisement containing details about qualifications, recruitment process and rules would be published within one week time. He also said that recruitment directorate has been formed under Director General School Education for the purpose of recruiting teachers every year by the Education Department. Giving more details, he said that this directorate would be extremely beneficial in completion of the process of making 11652 recruitments in minimal time. He also elaborated that the number of posts to be filled was determined by the rationalization of teachers carried out by the education department.
The Education Minister added that after the passage of law by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the superannuation of teachers in the state would only be on 31st March and the number of vacancies every year would be known after the superannuation of teachers on 31st March following which the recruitment process to fill the vacant posts would begin soon.
