Chandigarh, May 19, 2014: With the announcement and notification of election results for 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India today announced cessation of Model Code of Conduct in the state.
According to Raminder Singh, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, the declaration of results in respect to all Parliamentary Constituencies has been completed and notified by the election commission of India. He said that the ‘Due Consultation’ notification has been issued on 18thMay 2014 and with this Model Code of Conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect.
