Eleven Dies While Four Other Injured In A Tragic Road Accident In Ferozepur

Ferozepur, February 16, 2017: In a tragic incident, eleven persons including three women died while four other were severely injured in a road accident which took place near Village Behak Pachharian in Zira Sub-division.
The deceased have been identified as Satnam Singh son of Jagir Singh, Ranjit Kaur wife of Satnam Singh, Sukhchain Singh son of Satnam Singh, Ranjit Kaur wife of Jagtar Singh, Mandeep Singh son of Satnam Singh, Rajender Singh son of Jagtar Singh, Rajwant Kaur wife of Surjit Singh, Harmanpreet Kaur (4 years), Manjit Singh, Akashdeep Singh son of Tarsem Singh, Mohinder Kaur, all residents of Village Palasaur in Tarantaran district.
As per information available, all the persons, who belong to one family, were travelling on a Tavera Jeep (Number PB 09 0962) and after paying obeisance at a dargah in Village Mahianwala in Zira Sub-Division. However, the destiny had something else in store for them. As soon as their jeep reached Village Behak Pachharian, an overloaded truck, which was crossing their jeep, suddenly lost its balance and crushed the jeep. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck managed to escape.
Ten persons died on the spot while one person succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. The news was spread like a wild fire in the region. As soon as the matter was reported, senior officials from police and administration including Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, Vineet Kumar, SDM, Zira, Waryam Singh, DSP, Zira reached the spot.
The bodies were sent to the civil hospital in Zira. The police had started its investigation.
