Gurgaon, August 9, 2017: Amity School of Fashion Design & Technology Organised a Short Term Course/ Faculty Development Program on Computer Aided Design. This programme was successfully conducted by Mr.Rikhil Nagpal. The main intent behind this FDP was to provide an insight of various design software used in apparel industry. The programme received an overwhelming response wherein faculties and students from various departments including Communication, Nursing, Environment and many more actively participated.
The FDP started with an inaugural speech by Vice chancellor Prof. P.B.Sharma highlighting the importance of design software and how the understanding of same is not only limited to fashion field. This was followed by welcoming of the dignitaries with saplings.
The first session was about the introduction of fashion industry followed by series of activities where the concept of designing was made clear. In the session participants learned that a good design always starts with the content. The last session of the day was about the understanding of design digitization.
The next session is of an informative lecture on “Different design software and the concept of vector and raster graphics” was delivered.
The lecture was very beneficial and made everyone aware about the applications of different software. The Participants also learned the importance of various file formats used to save pictures. The final session of the day was conducted by industry experts introducing the latest 3D design software “OPTI-TEX” to the participants.
Rikhil Nagpal, HOD, ASFA said, “Design is what resonates to produce all solutions, & computer is a medium/tool only actual battle happens in designer's intellect”.
Prof (Dr.) P B Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Gurugram said "Fashion business is a business of happiness".
The last session was of introduction of various tools used in Corel Draw and Photoshop. This was followed by hands on training where participants were asked to design their logo, letter head, visiting card, lanyard and costume in Corel Draw, info graphic and webpage in Photoshop.
