Father Of Bollywood Actress Parineeti Chopra & 5 Others Honoured

Ludhiana, April 19, 2015: Punjab Government';s Ishmeet Singh Music Institute today launched its singing reality show "Singing Champion 2015" in a gala opening function held at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan, here on Saturday evening. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal. During the function, six personalities from the field of films and music industry were honoured by the organisers.

While speaking on the occasion, Rajat Agarwal said that every artist needs a platform to showcase his talent. He said that with the setting up of the Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, the Punjab government has already provided platform to the artists and now its the duty of city artists to relish and promote their talent. He appealed to the music lovers to become part of events organised by Ishmeet Singh Music Institute and promote all singers there.

He assured that the Punjab government is committed in taking this institute to new heights. He also congratulated the participants of this reality show.

This singing reality show “Singing Champion 2015” will be telecast on a Local Cable TV Network. The 12 contestants of the show have been selected out of the hundreds of students groomed at Ishmeet Singh Music Institute.

The show has been conceived by Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Director, of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, who is also judge of the show. In this singing reality show, top 6 singers shall challenge top 6 champions in different genres of singing during 18 episodes of the show that will ultimately culminate in presenting one versatile singing champion who would be able to sing all genres of singing for the music industry.

Local Cable TV Channel has entered into agreement with Ishmeet Singh Music Institute for telecast of the musical productions by Ishmeet Singh Music Institute which shall go a long way in providing state level platform to the students of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute. Further, FM Gold radio station of All Indian Radio has also joined hand with Ishmeet Singh Music Institute for broadcast of various musical productions of students of the institute.

The title song of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute written and composed by Dr Charan Kamal Singh, Director of Ishmeet Singh Music Institute shall be released on the occasion. Gurpinder Singh, father of late Ishmeet Singh, Voice of India shall be ‘The Grand Master’ of the show.

Today,  Nirmal Rishi, Actor;  Pawan Chopra, Actor and Singer and father of Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra; Sandeep Bhalla, Film Producer;  Raj Kakra, Lyricist;  Tejwant Kittu, Music Director and Darshan Aulakh, Line Producer were honoured for their meritorious contributions in the field of Punjabi cinema.

The star cast and associates of Punjabi feature film ‘Patta Patta Singhan Da Vairi’ also participated in the Curtain Raiser function.

The first, second and third prizes of the show have been sponsored by IELTS Immigration International, Lovely Bolt House and Calcutta Music House respectively.
