Chandigarh, December 22, 2016: After the inaugural matches the second round of League matches in the ongoing Corporate Super League (CSL) Season II T 20 Cricket Tournament, matches were played between BTM Apartments & Airtel and FCI & Indus Towers. Both matches were played at the Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sec 26 Cricket ground.

In the BTM Vs Airtel Match, BTM batted first & put up 135 runs by losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Airtel then were bundled out for 127 runs by BTM thereby the match was won by BTM by 8 runs.

For BTM, Bhoopvir Singh was unbeaten with a score of 50 off 55 balls which included 6 Fours. Lokesh made 44 off 41 balls by hitting 8 Fours.
In the bowling department of Airtel, Lakhbeer took 2 wickets in 3 overs by giving 16 runs. Balwant Pirta also took 2 wickets in 4 overs & gave away 20 runs. Manoj, Aanchal & Rajat Kapoor took one wicket each.

In response to the score by BTM, Airtel were bowled out with 127 runs on the score board by a spirited BTM bowling attack, in 19.5 overs. Mitesh was the highest scorer for Airtel with 36 runs made off 48 balls and this knock included 5 Fours. Manoj Redhu made 33 off 31 balls hitting 2 Fours.

The BTM bowlers did well. Dilpreet Singh was the highest wicket taker. He took 4 wickets in 3 overs by giving away 17 runs. Vinay Sharma took 2 wickets in 3.5 overs by giving 17 runs. Sushil took 1 wicket in his spell of 4 overs in which he gave away 24 runs. There were 3 run outs effected by the BTM team. BTM’s Bhoopvir Singh was adjudged Man of the Match.

The second match saw an encounter between Indus Towers & FCI. Batting first Indus Towers were bundled out for a paltry 83 runs by FCI’s team. In response FCI’s team made 87 runs by losing just 1 wicket, thereby winning the match by 9 wickets.

Indus Tower’s Akhil Malhotra was the highest scorer with 29 runs off 26 balls which included 2 Fours & 1 Six. Jitender was the only other batsman who entered double digits by making 10 runs off 11 balls which included 1 Six.

The bowling charge of FCI was lead by Ajay who took 5 wickets in his 4 overs giving away 23 runs. Kulwinder Singh took 2 wickets in his spell of 2 overs giving just 3 runs. Ravindra & Vijay took 1 wicket each.

In the FCI batting Harry with an unbeaten 68 off just 33 balls which included 7 Fours & 5 Sixes was the star batsman, who helped FCI cruise to an easy win. Kulwinder Singh made 13 runs off 14 deliveries, hitting 2 Fours. Harish remained not out with a score of 3 runs, made off 8 balls.

FCI’s Harry was declared man of the Match.
