The Federation of Senior citizens Punjab welcomed decision of National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority to fix ceiling price of coronary stents

Ludhiana, February 15, 2017: The Federation of Senior citizens Punjab has welcomed the decision of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority to fix the ceiling price of the coronary stents. This will greatly benefit the senior citizens who are already in financial crisis and are largely dependent on their children. In a statement S P Karkara, state President of the Federation and Dr Arun Mitra chairman of its health committee said that this price fixation should be extended to other implants like the Knee joint implants, intraocular lens, the hearing aid equipments and others. But they expressed concern at the reports that several hospital may increase the service charges thus totally negating the benefit to the patients. The government should check this they demanded.
